RECONSTRUCTED CABINET?

Opinions That Lloyd George Will be Included

DISCUSSION OF PROPOSALS PROSPERITY LOAN WANTED [unread etmt Amo cmuoa—By Electric Telegrmp* Copyright-1 LONDON, April 18. A powerful element in the Cabinet, with which Mr Stanley Baldwin is generally associated, is believed to be anxious to reftch an; -understanding with Mr Lloyd George, who met the Cabinet committee for the first time to-day, says the “Morning Post’s” political correspondent. • - Discussion of a general character extending over two hours took place at this morning’s meeting -with the members of the committee, which for some time past has been considering the proposals for national development of which he is author. Details of his plans will be explored at further meetings, six of which have been provisionally arranged to examine the proposals. Mr Lloyd George’s friends say he will not consider co-operation with the Government, unless an undertaking is given that the Government will float an adequate prosperity loan and appoint a national development hoard of whose personnel he approves. Satisfaction regarding these conditions might leave room for a compromise concerning his other proposals under the heads of road, land and housing schemes, industrial reorganisation and finance. There is a growing belief that the meetings will lead to the inclusion of Mr Lloyd George in a reconstructed Cabinet.
