MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH
TREE UPROOTED BY WIND; PATH TORN THROUGH TIMBER. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received noon. Unable to escape a willy-willy which tore through a mountain valley in the Cawongla district, on the north coast, Andrew Vidler, aged 22, was crushed to death when a fifty-foot tree uprooted by the wind fell on him. Vidler saw the willy-willy approaching and ran, but he was caught amid flying trees; A path fifty yards wide was torn through tall-timber on the mountainside. 1
