TARANAKI DISTRICT OFFICERS INSTALLATION AT MANAIA District officers of the Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., were installed in the Manaia Town Hall last night in the presence of 300 members and friends. The director of ceremonies was the district secretary, Bro. N. B. Bellringer. The ode was sung and the officers were obligated and invested by the installing officer, Bro. W. Manv The 1.P.D.G.M., Bro. Bennett, formally vacated his .position. In turn he was presented with a collar and jewel for his services.
Bro. Marr congratulated Bro. Sherson on his election to the highest 'district office, and the officer briefly replied. The secretary then addressed the D.D.G.M., who returned thanks for his election. Bros. A. W. Scott and A. J. Brennan, newly-elected officers of the management committee, were then invested with the collars of office. On behalf of the Opunake Lodge Bro. Thayer was presented with the shield for the greatest percentage of increase in membership during the yeaiy Bro. Sherson, who made the presentation; remarking that the growth from 17 to 58 members was wonderful. Bro. Thayer replied. Bro. Bollon presented the ritual cup to the Toko team, and congratulated N.G. Sister Mona Maekay. The installation and closing odes were then sung. .Dancing was enjoyed to music- provided by Hookers’ Merrymakers. Mr H. Miller was M.C.
