SUSPECT ARRESTED
Man Charged With Napier Bank Forgery SUM OF £IOOO INVOLVED REMAND AT PALMERSTON (By Telsgraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., To-day. Palmerston North detectives to-day arrested Edward Mountford Tufinicliffe, charged that on February i&, 1935, at Napier, With intent to defraud, he did obtain from the National Bank of New T Zealand at Napier the sum of £IOOO by falsely representing that a cheque for £IOOO drawn on the National Bank in favour of “303” purporting to be signed by Henry D. Hardy, was a good and valid order for that amount.
Accused is appearing before the court to-morrow and will be remanded to appear at Napier.
