King Approves of Commoner’s Appointment MR. JOHN BUCHAN (British Official Wireless) Received 1 p.m. to-day. RUGBY, March 27. The King has approved of the appointment of Mr John Buchan, M.P., as Governor-General of Canada, in succession to Lord Bessborough, whose term of office will expire shortly. Mr Buchan, who is an accomplished man of letters, is the first commoner to be appointed Governor-General of Canada..
