DISTURBING OUTLOOK

Belief That Nothing Will Emerge From Berlin Talks GERMAN EXPANSION POLICY EYES ON CZECHOSLOVAKIA (United Free* Association —By Electric TeJegrapt, Copyright.} Received 1.15 p.m. to-day. LONDON, March 27. The Sun-Herald 1 Service says that it understands that the German situation is regarded as disturbing, because nothing is likely to emerge from Sir John Simon’s visit to ease the existing tension.

“Britain is not aware of the next move, though the discussions served at least to »how where we stand. Britain may have taken a. strong line in the interests of general security. Germany clearly stands for an expansionist policy in eastern Europe and is ready to undertake a certain amount of risks, perhaps many, towards .achieving her aims. “The Germans emerged |from the talks as.a,more formidable people than is generally acknowledged: The nation almost to a man is behind Herr Hitler.

“It is confirmed that Herr Hitler’s demands, while as far-reaching as a section of the British Press believes, include the removal of virtually all treaty restrictions, air equality with Britain and France, and a navy of four hundred thousand tons, giving Germany four-fifths of Britain’s naval strength, and the elimination of the Polish corridor. Herr Hitler further wants the eventual return of the Czechoslovakians to Germany.”
