A Substantial “Sling.” The Sydney jockey .T. B. Pratt received a present of £SOO for his win on Sylvandale in the Australian Cup. The boys who looked after Sylvandale were not forgotten, nor was the farrier who shod him. The proud owner distributed bank notes among them. After bestowing these favours the owner, “Miss Lorna Doone/ J the wife of a Sydney doctor, fed Sylvandale with loaf sugar, of which the colt is very fond.
