A Bill organising the nation for passive defence against air attack was passed: by the Chamber of Deputies by 453 votes to 11. The measure provides for a committee attached to the Ministry of the Interior which will form special services composed of commandeered unmobilisable civilians and volunteers, enabling a dispersal of the population in large centres throughout the countryside. The inauguration of the “take-over” exercises will be simultaneously with the air defence manoeuvres.
