A mail who is described as the “most important screen discovery of the year” soon will arrive in Hollywood. He is Allan Jones, young and handsome Broadway musical star with one of the finest singing voices ever heard in a picture projection room. . . Mctro-Goldwyn-Maycr talent scouts in New York invited Jones to a screen test, then forwarded the test film to the Culver City studios. It revealed to the studio executives that Jones not only has a golden voice that reaches tho highest degree of perfection in film recording, but that lie is an excellent actor of the romantic type with promise of immediate ascension to stardom.

In New York .Jones has been appearing in musical plays, and only recently made a hit in “Bittersweet.”

Famed and beloved in Hollywood as “The Great Grand-daddy of Motion Picture Actors, ’ ’ Dick La Eemo, 70 years old. the man who played a role in the first motion picture ever made, is still hale and lieartv, and actively engaged in films. To those who say he is old, La Eemo currently featured in Paramount’s “Buggies of Bed Gap,” with Charles Laughton, {Mary Boland, Charlie Buggies, Zasu Pitts and Boland Young, responds by showing them his skill as a juggler. ' ITe balances a 130 pound wagon-wheel on his chin! He came to Hollywood in 1909.

Gail Patrick.

Gail Patrick, brunette Paramount actress, featured in Zano Grey’s * ‘Wagon Wheels,” at the Opera House on Saturday and Monday, first went to Hollywood as a section winner of the contest conducted throughout America to find a girl to play the Panther Woman role in “The Island of Lost Souls.” Although she did not win the prize role, she was awarded a long-term contract and is seen in the featured feminine role in “Wagon Wheels.”

Myrna Lov, whose recent screen successes have been as a married woman, is single in real life.
