Nightly for Taranaki
According to a southern report, Nightly is to retire, which is not surprising when his poor form in the Thompson Handicap and the Awapmii Cup is considered. It is understood that this son of Night Raid and Miss Muriel will take up duties at the stud of Mr J. C. Gleeson at Bell Block. It is hoped this this is so, for there is little doubt that Nightly has a successful career at the stud before him. Horses of his calibre' are by no, means • plentiful and his presence in Taranaki should be greatly welcomed by breeders in this: province. i'
