PLUNKET BABY CARNIVAL

“GLENHOLME” GARDEN PARTY On Wednesday next a garden party will be held at Air A. K. Fyson’s residence, “Glenholme,” South Road, in aid of the Country Baby Candidate in the Plunket Baby Carnival. Given fine weather, patrons are assured of an excellent outing in these beautiful grounds. Admission is free and a cordial invitation is extended to the public to attend. There will be entertainment and magic for the children provided by a conjuring exhibition and magic of another sort for their elders in the “mystery tent.” Competitions in golf, tennis, croquet and deck tennis will he held and there will be a wide variety of stalls. Afternoon tea and ice-cream will be procurable.

SPORTS CANDIDATE WORD BUILDING COMPETITION In an effort to raise money on behalf of the Sports Baby Candidate in the Plunket Baby Carnival, the sports committee is organising a word-huild-ing competition, open to children throughout Taranaki who have not attained their sixteenth birthday. Attractive prizes of £2 2s and 10s 6d are being offered and it is.hoped to secure the support of parents and teachers throughout the province. The entrance fee is 6<J for each attempt sent to the organisers, P.O. Box 8, Hawera. Entries close on Friday, March 22, 1935.
