DESTRUCTION OF HORSE
Charge of Unlawful Killing Preferred Against Bookmaker ACTION UNDER CRIMINAL CODE AUSTRALIAN SENSATION (United Fna Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received noon to-day. BRISBANE, To-day. A summons under the criminal code has been served on Frank Morris containing a charge of-having unlawfully killed the racehorse Ferniemount, the property of Sydney Byers. Two racehorses, Ferniemount and Fox Movietone, were shot dead in sensational circumstances in their stables. A man called on the trainer, G. Sullivan, and in response to his request was shown the Horses. The man drew a revolver and shot both- animals dead. Ferniemount was the idol of Albion Park racegoers. Interest in the colt had been heightened for the last few months by litigation which presented him .from racing. The litigation arose from an application by Morris, a bookmaker, in whose name the horse raced, for an injunction to restrain Sydney Byers and G. Sullivan, trainer, from racing Ferniemount.
