Mrs G. C. Pickett and Miss* W. Huggins vTsr© joint hostesses .at an enjoyable progressive bridge party on ■Wednesday evening. This was an effort to .raise funds for the Plunket sports baby. The rooms were gay with bowls of mixed hydrangeas and asters. Mrs Payne and Mr Gosnell won the -prizes for. the highest score, Mr Stead- and Miss Bartleet winning the consolation prizes.- The guests included Mesdames R. J. O’Dea, E. R. Bavin, H. P. In order to .raise funds for., Everybody's candidate in the baby carnival, a flag-bridge party was held at the home at Mrs 11. IT Henderson on Tuesday flight. ’ The bridge room- Was gaily decorated with huge bowls* of hydrangeas and 1 asters,- the supper room being arranged with vases of bright, sun-flowers. Committee lnembers present were Mesdames Henderson, A. Bonetti, T. F. AlcKenzie. S. A- Chisholm, Lendrum and Cartel'. Among the players were Alesdames W. AIT Winks, Aleredith,'Atann, H. G.
