PATEA SCOTTISH FAIR
STALLS AND COMPETITIONS. EVENING PICTURE programme The Patea Presbyterian Church held a most successful “Scottish Fair” in the Town Hall on Friday. The Mayor (Mr. F. Ranisbottom), in opening the lair, wished the stallholders every success. The stalls, which were well-laden, did good, business throughout the day. In the evening, a short picture programme was enjoyed. A nail-driving competition was won by Mrs. Burnett and Mr. Meharry, and a candle-light-ing competition by Miss L. Sutherland. Stall-holders were as follows: Flowers, Mrs Haswell and Miss McCarty; * afternoon tea, Mesdames Sutherland, McDonald, Matt and helpers; produce, Mesdames Lund and Hunger; cakes, Mesdames Papps and Hunter; fruit salad, Mrs Kettles and Miss Kettles; sewing stall, Mesdames Balsillie and Richards; soft drinks, Miss Boa gey; sweets, Misses Masters, Hunger and Balsillie.
