KING’S SILVER JUBILEE

VOTES TOWARDS CELEBRATIONS (United Prem Association —Bv Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, March 1. Among the latest plans for the silver jubilee is that of the City of London Corporation, which voted £15,000 towards the cost of the celebrations. Of this amount £SOO was allocated for a Royal ball at the Guildhall for which between 4000 and 5000 invitations will be issued.

It is expected that 40 members of the Royal Family will attend a thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The Government has allocated £50,000 for expenditure on floodlighting, the erection of stands around St. Paul’s and decoration for various celebrations.

His Majesty has approved the project of free theatre performances for the poor, organised by the theatrical profession.
