PARK DEFEATS STRATFORD

CAMPBELL AND McLDOWIE CUPS.

Risturn matches for the Campbell Cup and the McLDowie Cup between the Hawera Park and Stratford Croquet Clubs were played at Hawera Park yesterday. The following are the results of the matches, Stratford players being mentioned first ill each case:—

Campbell. Cup: Mesdames Brocklebank and Bamford 14 lost to Mesdames Hey and Chadwick 26; Mesdames Knight and Shelton 26 beat Mesdames Harding and Exley 25; this made each team have the same number of which necessitated another round, which resulted as follow: Mesdames Brocklebank and Bamford 28 beat Mesdames Hey and Chadwick 13; Mesdames Knight and Shelton S lest to Mesdames Harding and Exlev 26.

Hawera 39 points, Stratford 34 points. McLDowie Cup : Mrs Somerfield and Miss Thompson IS lost to Mesdames Jackson and Sprngg 28; Mesdames Davis ancl Cook 26 boat Mesdames Ilobhs and Dowden 18.

Hawera 67 points, Stratford 44 points. Hawera, therefore, took both tro-r phies. The day was a. most enjoyable ione,' the visitors being entertained to luncheon by the home team.
