~— —* — PERSONAL AND GENERAL. (From Our Own Correspondent). The annual school picnic was held at the Opunake beach last week. The early morning was wet, but the weather cleared about. 10 a.m. and it was decided to adhere to tile original plan and a lorry-load of children and several private cars left for the beach. Bathing and swimming was indulged in by most of those present, races were conducted for the children on the beach, and each child was supplied with ice cream and sweets. Airs. T. G- Mitchell and family and Mrs D. Black, of Christchurch, who has been her guest, lvere visitors to New Plymouth over the week-end. Among those who attended the Opunake races were Mesdames Hughes, Simpson, Walker, Jones, Guild, Evans, Alitchell and Alisses Say well, Jones, Ehrhern and Dahenden.
