Mrs P. Tennent and Mr Gray Tennent have returned from a holiday trip through Milford Sounds and a motor trip through the Wairarapa. Miss Cush la Wylds, who has been staying with Mrs Graham, returned to Hawera on Monday. 31 rs F. Train, senior (Waitotara) who suffered slight cuts and bruises when her car overturned last week, necessitating a short stay in the hospital, has now sufficiently recovered to return to her home.

Misses Elliott and Thompson, of the nursing staff of the New Plymouth hospital, were 3lrs J. Vickers’ guests last Monday nigh't.

\ 3lrs P. Cleary (Dunedin), who has been staying with 3lrs Cleary senr. left at the beginning of the week for Wellington, where she will attend the wedding of her niece. 3liSs W. Train, who is nursing at tho Palmerston public hospital, is spending her annual holiday with her mother, Mrs F. Train senr., Waitotara.

3lr and Mrs McMillan and family have returned from a holiday spent in Whangamomona. 31 r and. Airs Mc-L’Dowie (Ilawera) spent the week-end with 3fr and Mrs Ilopkinson, Waitotara. Mrs A. J. Alexander returned with her sister, Miss Lourie, to Fern Flats, Mar ton.

. On Tuesday afternoon Aliss J. Parsons arranged three tables of bridge at her home, in honour of Aliss Jack•son (Auckland). The drawing room had been most artistically decorated ! with roses and brilliantly coloured zini nias, while a large bowl of bronze dahlias and a basket of pink and blue hydrangeas in the hall excited much admiration. Aliss Parsons wore a j smartly cut. frock of powder blue novelty crepe, while Miss Jackson chose eggshell blue pinspot art silk, with dainty white trimmings. Alesdames Bremer, Lance, F. Train, jnr., Alisses Jackson (Auckland), Walkinton, Graham (2), Brewer, Barrow, Robertshaw 7 (Wellington), NewTand, Train and M. Alexander were among the guests. Prizes for the two top scorers were won by Aliss Walkinton .‘irid CM. Alex- . ander.
