PROFIT ON TENNIS TOUR
ENGLISH TEAM’S VISIT. ! AMOUNT APPROXIMATELY £9OO. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 27. Details of a substantial profit ac : crued to the New* Zealand Lawn Tennis Association as the result of the English team’s tour were given at tonight’s quarterly meeting of the council of the association by Mr A. G. Henderson, chairman of the management committee. The profit, he said, was approximately £3OO to the New Zealand Association and £4OO to the local associations. Gate takings at the Dominion championship tournament held at Auckland, about £330, were a record for an\ touinament in New Zealand. The big gate was, no doubt, duo to the draw card that Perry was. The tour of Ewen and Kay, continued .Mr Henderson, though of benefit to minor associations, was very poor from a financial viewpoint.
