WHEAT PRICES EASE

BOARD RELEASES STORES,

NORTH ISLAND DEMAND. (By Telegrapn—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Pel). 20. The Wheat Purchase Board recently released a quantity of its stored wheat for the North Island poultry feed demand, and this has had an immediate effect on the market, particularly for forward business. Spread quotations had risen as high as 4s 7d a bushel f.0.b.5.e., and this has eased since the announcement was made to 4s fid, with very few buyers, whilst prompt delivery fowl wheat lias come back from 4s 4d to 4s 3d. The Wheat Board is releasing its wheat at 4s 4d. It is understood the board’s action was to prevent forward fowl wheat soaring to levels which would unduly raise the price to North Island poultry men.
