BRITISH CATTLE SUBSIDY
ESTIMATE OF £2,1-16,300. HOUSE CARRIES VOTE. (United Press Assoclaticn—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). LONDON, Feb. 25. In the House of Commons, Mr. WE. Elliot, Minister of Agriculture, said he did not apologise for introducing a supplementary estimate of £2,146,300 for a cattle subsidy to cover the interim while the Government grappled wit.h the large and involved meat problem.
Mr. Henderson Stewart (NationalLiberal) asked Mr. Elliot to issue- a white paper indicating liis general objective regarding agriculture generally and meat particularly.
The vote was carried by 148 to 42.
