Among the passengers on the'Strathaird is Mr Frank Tarrant, the former Victorian cricketer, who is seeking TO arrange an Australian cricket team to arrange an Australian- 'cricket team to carry out a private tour of India at the request of the Maharajah of Patiala, who is providing £IO,OOO to cover the cost. Mr Tarrant said he had already approached a number of Australia’s leading cricketers on tho subject.; TEST GATE RECEIPTS. LONDON, Feb. 26.’ The gate receipts at last year’s Tests were: Nottingham, £14,569; Lords, £23,225; iManehester, £16,227; Leeds, £15,633; Oval, £18,655. The total of £88,322 exceeded the 1930 receipts by £11,032. RURAL ASSOCIATION. TEAM FOR NEXT WEDNESDAY A cricket match between the A team of the Rural Cricket Association and a South Taranaki Wednesday team will be played at Hawera on Wednesday, March 6, at 12.30.
