PERSONAL AND GENERAL. From Our Own Correspondent. A welcome home and gift evening v. as tendered to Mr. and Mrs. J. Barnes recently at the home of Mrs. E. Jennings. During the evening, Mr. H. Watts congratulated the bride and groom and asked them to accept the many gifts. Mr. Barnes replied. Mr. Stewart presented some humorous sketches, while novelty dances Avere Avon by Mr. Floyd and Miss Hornby and Mr. Brassel and Miss Stoddart. Mr. F. Stewart, jun., supplied the music and Mr. R. Griffin Avas M.C.
At a Avell-attended meeting of local residents on Monday night, it Avas decided to open a subscription list to build bathing sheds at the Inaha beach Mr. and Mrs H. Mead, Wings Bioad, are at present touring in, Hawke’s Bar,
Mr. and Mrs. Colin MacDonald are spending a holiday in the north. Misses E. and T). Gunderson are spending a holiday at Auckland.
_Miss Nola Hornby is camping at Kaupokomii Beach. Mr. E. .Tenning has returned from a fishing expedition at Mokau.
