COMBINED PICNIC HELD. The combined picnic of the AA nverley schools, town and district, in conjunction with the dairymen and the townspeople, was held on AVednesday on the Waverley racecourse. There was a good attendance of children and adults. The large programme for the day was run right up to the time-table and reflected much credit oil the various sub-committees in charge ot their respective departments. There were a great number of events for school children and adults, and the results were as follows:

SHEEP DOG TRIAL CBtJB
The annual meeting of the Waverley Sheep Dog Trial Club was held last week, Mr Watkins presiding. Three new' members were elected to the club, Messrs P. Inglish, J. D. Parsons and R. M. McKenzie.
The president, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, congratulated members on the financial position of the club, and also thanked members and friends who had assisted in making the trials such a success. He also thanked those) gentlemen who had so generously donated trophies. It was decided that the dates of the next trials should be • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 17, 18 and 19, April, 1935. Correspondence was received from Messrs Levin and Co., enclosing a cheque of £1 Is as a donation to the club, and the secretary was instructed to forward a letter of thanks. Messrs Scott and Forrester were reelected delegates for the club. Schedules and tickets were left to the secretary to procure, and P. Forrester was instructed to interview Mr W. Sim son about the grounds. It was decided that the secretary be granted an honorarium of £5 for his services during the year.
