Mr Clive Harrison has re-joined the firm of Egmont Tourist Motors, Ltd., Hawera.
The Princess of Braganza is a passenger on the Franconia, which sailed from Suva for Auckland yesterday, states a cable message.
Dr. Stanley Foster, Christchurch, has been nominated as District Governor of Rotary in New Zealand for next year. The present District Governor is Mr M. J. A. Illott, Wellington.
The death occurred at Hawera yesterday of Mr William Reader, in his 79th year. Mr Reader was born at Christchurch and for varying periods he resided in New Zealand centres— Thames, Coromandel, Auckland and Leeston. He lived in Thames and Coromandel during the days of the mining boom, although he took little part in the actual rush. He was in business as a coach-builder at Feilding and worked for several years at AVanganui. Nine years ago he retired, after the death of his wife, to New Plymouth, and for the last 18 months he lived at Hawera with his nephew, Mr T. H. Reader. Mr AA 7 . Reader was a Mason and at Feilding he held The office of A\ r orshipful Master. He i 3 survived by two sisters, one residing at Christchurch and the other at New Plymouth as well as 13 nephews and nieces.
