Wedding

WILMSHURST—NOONAN

On February 4. St. Joseph’s Church, Hawera, was the scene of the wedding of Anne, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. .1. Noonan, Knponga, to Bertram, eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. E. AVilmshurst. Stratford. Thu ceremony, including nuptial mass, was performed by Monsignor Cullen, and Mrs W. A. Quin played the wedding music. Entering the church with her father, the bride was charmingly gowned in white chiffon georgette, cut on classic lines. The slim fitting bodice was finished with tiny pink rose buds, and the skirt fell in folds, forming an oval train. The band-embroidered veil was arranged with a circlet of orangeblossom buds and a sheaf of pink roses and lillies was carried. The bride was attended by .Mrs B. Johnson, Christchurch, as matron of honour. Her frock was of midnight blue af"alaine made on fitting lines, with a short bolero jacket stitched in silver thread. A cap of blue tulle, trimmed with Howers to tone was worn, and she carried a bouquet of delphiniums and hydrangeas, in pastel shades. Miss Mavis Lloyd, .Stratford, the bride’s cousin, was bridesmaid, and wore a becoming gown of shell pink sprigged organdi, made on fitting lines. She also wore a cap of pink tulle, trimmed with matching flowers, and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and begonias to tone. Mr G. Noonan, the bride’s brother was best man and Mr 1?. Noonan was groomsman. After the ceremony the guests .were entertained at the Carlton tea rooms, Hawera. where they , were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock of floral sdk crepe do client* in pastel shades, with a grey fur stole and hat to tone. Her posy was of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs Wilmshurst, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a tailored swagger suit, with bat to match and carried a posy of nemesias. Mrs Lloyd. Normanhy, the bride's grandmother, wore a frock of black phaille phantom and carried a posy of mauve flowers. When the bride and bridegroom left on their wedding tour, the bride wore a smart chocolate brown suit, with bat, iind shoes to tone.
