The Dominion band contests were continued at Timaru to-day in fine weather. - The first B grade test selection, MGems of Wagner/’ was held tonight, but in accordance with a new rule the points will not be announced till the conclusion of the second .test on Thursday night. Nine bands competed. They were the Artillery Band (southern command), Ashburton Silver, Christchurch Municipal, Gore Municipal, Greymouth Municipal, Palmerston.. North City Silver, Taranaki llegimental-Municipal Band, New Flymouth, Wellington Boys’ Institute, Westport Municipal. ; • . V To-day’s results were:— Quartettes: Timaru Municipal (R. Milligan, P. Abraham,. R. Mathieson, C. Necklen) 94 1, Queen Alexandra’s Own 93 2, Port Nicholson Silver No. 192 3. Also competed: Str Kilda No. 2 90, St. Kilda No. 1 89, Port Nicholson No. 2 88,;.
