CHRISTCHURCH THEFT CHARGES. TWO MEN PLEAD GUILTY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 19. Eight charges of breaking and entering dwelling houses and committing theft were preferred in the Magistrate’s Court to-day against Walter Albert Speer, aged 21, and Walter Bell, aged 30. The value of the stolen property according to the estimates of witnesses was about £GSO and the total value of the goods recovered was about £l5O. Both accused had made statements to the polico, admitting the offences. They said they were on relief work, hard up and in need of food and clothing for their wives and children. They pleaded guilty and were committed to i the Supreme Court for sentence. 1
