The teams in the final of the rinks cliamoionship were: T\ inner, H. Norfolk,'l'. Charters. G. Sole, R. Boulton ; runner-up, J. Casey, TV. Luscombe. W. Bruce, J. Lobb. Conditions were ideal for play, the weather being warm and the green keen. There was a breeze blowing across the green, lint it did not appear to affect the games, which were all keenly contested. The gallery was large, especially in the afternoon. The sixth round game. and. as it proved, the semifinal in the morning between Lobb and Dickinson (Avon) provided a great contest, the standard of bowling being very high. It was not case of any one man carrying the team, for every member did his toll share, with the result that the position ot the heads was eontmnadv changing. L-ohh s rink was moro consistent, and what slight element luck there might have been did not favour Dickinson. I bat left tlic final between the two West- End rinks, and Boulton, who had retained his two lives intact through post section pla\, maintained bis record by doteating Lobb by the margin of two points. Though tlic standard ot howls was still high, some of the players particularly in the closing stages appeared to be realising the importance of the oceasiun. which was reflected in their play. There was much brilliant bowling'. Probably the most consistent and unperturbed bowler of the eight was
G. Sole, who had a big say in his team’s victory. Sole was an adept at summing up the position of the head and taking steps to meet any contingency. Bruce, Lobb’s third, who had been drawing perfectly during the morning, was apt to be short in the afternoon. It was anybody’s game until the eleventh head, when the score was eight all. Detailed results were as follow: SIXTH BOUND. One lifers.
J. Casey, AA’. Luscombe, AA’. Bruce, J. Lobb (West End) 26 v. T. Bulman, AY. Lonsdale, F. Weston, A. Dickinson (Avon) 18. Dickinson’s rink eliminated. H. Norfolk. T. Charters, G. Sole, B. Boulton (AYest End), two lifer, a bve.
FINAL. B. Boulton (West End) 17 v. Lobb (AA’est End) 15.

Freeman (New Plymouth) by 24 to j 18 on the 20th head. Skoglund was j drawing well and collected 10 points off the last four heads against Freeman’s two. Summerfield was a good lead and, although Boon and Freeman were both bowling well, the Stratford pair seemed to play better together. Freeman was six up after the first three heads, but Skoglund collected three, two and two on the fourth, sixth and seventh heads, lieing down 7 .9 on the eighth head. He scored three on the ninth to lead by one, i but Freeman scored six on the next four heads to Skoglund’s one and led 16—11 after the 13th head. Skoglund crept up to 14—15 with a two and a single. On the 16th head Skoglund drove and with a lucky wick took out the shot bowl. Freeman drew in well behind Kelly and took a single. The 17th head Avas a triumph for Skoglund. Freeman played two excellent” saving shots but Skoglund pushed each of them out and collected four from the head to lead for the second time in the match. Boons’ second bowl lay three inches from kitty on the next head and Freeman added another with a good draw, but Skoglund trailed the jack out and lay two himself. Freeman just missed getting second shot and the skips were Avith their remaining lioavls for Skoglund to take tAvo, making him four points up Avith three heads to go. Sunnnerfiold dreAv one 14 inches from the jack and added another. Boon ran kitty into the ditch and put his next I>OAA-f right on the edge. Skoglund. in an attempt to bring Summerfield’s toucher into a scoring position, Avas too narroAV Avith bis running shot. Freeman took tAvo. The 20th head found Summerfield failing to trail the jack by inches, and Boon had the shot until Skoglund trailed the jack out into a nest of his oAvn bowls to lie three.
