CLUB CROQUET MATCHES
PLAY AT KAPONGA
VISIT OF OKAIAWA TEAM. The ideal summer weather experienced at Kaponga has resulted ir. members of the Ladies’ Ci'oquet Club playing many interesting games. On Thursday of last week a club afternoon was held, when the progressive competitions for the buttons were continued. The A buttons were won In Mrs Evans and the B by Mrs Lewis. In the evening the club held a. flag •509 tournament at the Parish Hall, when there was a good attendance. The winning table was Mesdames Guthrh sour., Boyle, Evans and AY ells. Last Monday afternoon a B team from the Okaiawa club paid a visit to the Kaponga club, when an interesting and close game resulted in a win for Kaponga by a small margin. This week, cm Wednesday afternoon a Campbell Cup match was played between Rahotu and Kaponga, the match talcing place on thb Kaponga green. Although defeated by 52 to 19, the
visitors were not disgraced. The chiei handicap for the Rahotu players war ibe fastness of the green, which seemed to considerably upset their calculations.
The club has had many visiting platers during the past few weeks, including Hiss E. White, of Helensville; Mrs Davis, of Te Awamutu, and Mi and Airs D. McClymong, of W 7 anganui,
