Post=Section Play at Dominion Bowling Tourney

FOURTH ROUND GAMES SIX TEAMS ELIMINATED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, To-day. The fourth round of post-section play in the New Zealand howling rinks championship was played this morning in hot weather. Jenkin, the only undefeated rink, had a- bye. He meets Lancaster (Carlton) in the next round. Results of the fourth round are: Two-Tiferst—Robertson (Omehunga) 18 beat F. A. Hosking (Pukekohe) 16; Whittle (Gi’ey Lynn) 16 beat McWhannell (Hataitai) 16; S. Jenkin (Carlton) a bye. One-lifers. —Lancaster (Carlton) 17 beat Graham (Carlton) 15; Brackenridge (Lyall Bay) 23 heat Roberts (Carlton) 11; Engelbrotsen (Napier) 21 beat Brighting (Hataitai) 16; Stone (St John’s Wanganui) 25 beat Rremner (West End, Auckland) 15; Mingins (Eusom) 17 beat Arnott (Palmerston North) 15; Pilkington (Hamilton) 20 beat Gee (Te Awamutu) 16; Tlieo Walker (Mt. Albert) 20 beat Thomas (Wairere, Napier) 17.

In tho rinks play Lancaster and Graham tied on the last head and a replay was burned. Lancaster won by two on the second replay. Robertson was rather lucky in -winning after a tie against Hosking. On playing off tho tie Wyatt removed Stephen's toucher, but Macklow and Robertson each drew the counter and Hosking’s drive failed to remove them.

Brackenridge was very successful against Roberts, his scoring points being largely due to his capacity to draw the shot on a fresh length when the jack had been carried fnto or near the ditch. McWhannell had the same experience as yesterday, having to play off a tie after the bell rang. He was lying one shot on the last head and wanted another for a win, but his howl went too wide. On the replay Whittle held the winning shot. Driving was a feature of Pilkington’s game with Gee.

Mingins had a splendid game with Arnott and they were even on the eighteenth. On the 19th Arnott lay four counters, but Mingins trailed the jack into the ditch for a three. On the next Arnott was lying the shot, but had had luck to promote an opponent’s ball into the shot. This left Epsom four up and Arnott failed to retrieve. The following were eliminated in this round: Graham, Brighting, Breinner, Arnott, Gee, Thomas and Roberts. In an additional game in the pairs, post section, third round, McCarthy (Port Ahuriri) 22 beat J. F. Hosking (Grey Lynn) 10.
