Regulations Announced for First Quarter of Year
ALL CLASSES COVERED NEW ZEALAND’S SHARE (United Press Association -By Elcedlo Telegraph Copyright). Received 2.30 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Jan. IG. The Ministry of Agriculture announces the completion of arrangements regulating the imports of meat for the first quarter of 1935. , Imports of foreign chilled beet will be 90 per cent, of the imports for the first quarter in 1931-32. Frozen beef, mutton and lamb will be 65 per cent.
The Dominion arrangements are based on the first quarters of 1932-33-34 as follows : Australia. —Beef and '-cal 1 Sr,ooo cut; mutton and lamb, 450,QOOcwt; pork, 167,000 cwt. New Zealand.—Beef and veal, 16(1,OOOc wt; mutton and lamb, 800,000 cwt: pork, 75,C0Qcwt. Canada. —Beef and veal, 19 .OOOcwt ; mutton, 25,000 cwt; pork, S6,ooocu t. South Africa.—Beef and veal, 17,000 cwt. Southern Rhodesia. —Beet and veal, 51,OOOcwt.
