(Roach 28, Maynard, not out, 200, Merry 31 and It. Grant 37). England in their second innings have lost one for 11. Maynard is a young schoolmaster and this is his first appearance in big cricket. He batted for five and a quarter hours, defying seven bowlers. He was forceful with his on side shots and hit 30 boundaries.
