British Engineering Firm Obtains Large Order WORLD=WIDE CONFERENCE VALUABLE TIME SAVED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Received 12.45 p.m to-day. LONDON, Jan. IG. The Daily Express, in announcing that a Derby firm, which already has £1,500,000 worth of orders on its books, had obtained a £'420,000 contract for electrical equipment at Perth, quotes the managing director, who said ho received the West Australian order largely because a short time ago he held a world conference by radio with branches in Australia, India, South Africa and America on quotations. Suggestions were made during this talk**,which saved weeks and in some cases, months, of cabling and writing.
