Whareroa Meeting The January meeting of the Whareroa Women’s Institute was presided over by Mrs is. Larcom and there was an attendance of 32 members. Visitors acre welcomed from the Te Ro.ti, Turutiirti and Fordel] Institutes. Jt was decided to hold a picnic at Oh awe beach on January 22. Members were reminded of the pantry exhibition to be held at the next winter-show in Hawera. Mrs Larcom gave a very interesting "demonstration of dross-making. The competition was plain toffee, and the successful competitors were Mesdames Laing 1. Aberlev 2 and Thomlinson sen. 3. The judge was Mrs Bowman. Votes of thanks were accorded .Mesdames Bowman and Larcom. The exchange stall was in charge of Mrs and -Miss Paterson. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Christie and Misses Gould and Fearon.
