The first time down the back stretch, Silver Division and Tarcha moved up behind Beau Star, and at the last fence the field was bunched, Beau Star, Ythan, Gowanlea, St. Ames and Tareha being almost in line. Silver Division hung on best to win by three-quarters of a length from Ythan, with Gowanlea half a length back third, and with Emancipation, Tareha and Beau Star right up. St. Ames was next.
