MANAIA SCORE AQAIN TVIARGIN OF OVER 100 RUNS COLLAPSE OT' LOSING TEAM. In a one innings against Stratford, the visiting Manaia team emerged winners with over 100 runs to spare. Manaia batted first and made 158, to which Stratford replied with 50. The top-scorer for Manaia was lvitt (38), who was well supported by Wilnibliurst (18), C. Whalen (16) and Andrews (15). Thirty-five extras were recorded against Stratford. Ward was the most successful bowler with four for 33. Jn Stratford); innings the host ivasj made by Ward (22), the only other player to reach double figures being Walker (10)'. L. lii a one-innings’ match at King Edward Park, Old Collegians defeated Old Bovs B. Tlic losers batted first and scored S 3, which Old Collegians found with six wickets in hand. The innings was continued and closed at 132. The first three Old Boys’ batsmen offered little resistance to the bowling, but Kelpe (15) helped to bring the score along. With tlic total in the 40’s, wickets fell fast and a very low score appeared likely. Hayman (19) and Evans (15) were then associated in a useful partnership which brought the score to 80, the last man adding three runs. Hughes took four wickets for 39 and Malone three for 10. A partnership between Gorman (49) and Couch (22) put. 76 on the board before Old Collegians’ first wicket fell. Three wickets fell with the addition of as many runs, but Selwood (27) put the issue out of doubt and with Malone (12) continued merrily. The remaining batsmen did not score many runs. Gorman hit eight fours and Selwood four fours and a six. Claringbold was Old Boys’ most successful bowler with four for 19 in four overs. Stevens bowled eight overs and took five for 4_.
