POWER BOARD PUBLICITY

WORK FOR A DEMONSTRATOR

PROPER USE OF' A RANGE. For the purpose of furthering the development of electricity in its district the South Taranaki Power Board last evening decided upon the ap- , pointment of a sub-committee to determine a campaign of newspaper publicity and also practical demonstration work as applicable more particularly to the proper operation of an electric range. ‘T am satisfied it would pay this board handsomely to obtain the services of some capable woman to go out from time to time and demonstrate to small groups in some seme private home the operation of these ranges,” said the chairman (Mr J. B. Murdoch. ‘‘lt might cost this board upwards of £3OO for publicity and a demonstrator but I think it would be well worth while,” he said. Previously, when demonstrations were held an expert had to be obtained from Wellington, said Mr Murdoch. There should be any number of .good cooks - in this district to enable the services of a demonstrator to be obtained occasionally locally. Small circles could be arranged at various homes where there was an electric range and demonstrations given. “It is an excellent idea,” said Mr E. A. Washer, “especially if the home study groups can be arranged.” It was resolved that the sub-com-mittee consist of the chairman and Mr J. E. Campbell.
