ELTHAM DEFEATS STRATFORD In a match played at Eltham this week a team representing the Eltham Women’s Golf Club beat Stratford by five games to one, three games being halved. Results were as follow, the names of the Eltham players being mentioned first: — Mrs Morton and Mrs Casey v. Mrs Williams and Mrs Seyb all square. Mrs L. Quin and Airs M. McGarry lost to Miss Songster and Mrs Knewstubb. Miss Fountaine and Airs Tayler v. Mrs Ryan and Airs Bishop all square. Airs Lambie and Mrs de Launay v. Aliss Penn and Aliss Anderson all square. Airs Stewart and Airs J. Quin beat Airs AlcDonald and Mrs Sole. Airs Turner and Aliss Svme beat Aliss Coleman and Airs Power. Aliss Carncross and Aliss Hill beat Airs Newell and Airs Thorpe. Aliss Carter and Airs Harrison beat Mrs Carter and Aliss Alasters.
Aliss At. Gibson and Aliss Riddle beat Airs Shaw and Airs Wynyard.

Eltham women golfers also played a New Plymouth team in a match which New Plymouth won by four games to two. ’file results, with Eltham players mentioned first, were as follow: Airs Morton and Mrs Casey lost to Aliss Gavin and Aliss Rollo. Airs L. Quinn and Airs AJcGarry lost to Mrs Duff and Aliss H. Bundle. Airs Tayler and Airs Turner beat Aliss Hill and Aliss Blundell. Airs J. Quin and Aliss Carncross lost to Airs Hill and Aliss Horne.' Miss Carter and Aliss Home lost to Aliss Horner and Aliss Rennell. Aliss Harcourt and Aliss O’Sullivan beat Airs Power and Airs Lightband.

On Wednesday at Atangatoki a visiting To Ngutu women’s team was defeated by four games to two with two games halved. The results were as follows, the names of the Te Ngutu plavers being mentioned first:— Miss E. O’Dowd and Airs O. Robertson all square with Airs Lambie and Aliss Svme. Airs Luxton and AHss Sutherland all square with Aliss Hilla nrl Aliss Pease. Aliss J. Joyce and Airs Hollis lost to Airs Harrison and Airs N. Linn 3 and 3.
Aliss O’Sullivan and Airs Aleuli lost to Airs Hill and Aliss Belcher 3 and 2. Aliss Hutchison and Airs Good beat Airs Bolger and Mrs Chamtaloup 5 and 3.
Airs Evetts and Airs 'Woods beat Airs C. Pease and Airs Court 2 up. Mrs Barclay and Airs Bolger lost to Airs Hutchen and Aliss G. Linn 2 and 1. Miss Oldfield and Aliss Aleuli lost to Airs G. Pease and Airs H. Linn 1 down. CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY. PATE A CLUB GAMES. The Patea . championships have reached the final stages, Currie and Hughes being drawn to meet in the senior championship, Kehfely and Adams in the junior and Glenny and Taylor in the C grade. • In the women’s club Aliss Honeyfield won the eclectic competition of two rounds with 96—24—72. The best cards medal round were:— Mrs Roberts, 96—19—77; Miss Honey field, 102—24—78; Airs Wither, 9g_20—78. In the third round of the junior championships Airs Haddow beat Aliss Honeyfield and Miss Petersen beat Aliss Wybourne.
