INFANT FOUND UNDER BRIDGE

EVIDENCE. AT INQUEST. PARENTAGE UNKNOWN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Sept. 19. At an inquest this morning concerning the death of a newly born female child, found under the. Awapuni bridge in March last, the coroner returned a verdict that the body was that of an unknown infant, whose death was due to lack of skilled attention at birth. Medical evidence given was that the child had breathed, but there, were no marks of violence. The police stated extensive inquiries had been made throughout the Dominion, but they had failed to trace the child’s parentage.
