AIR SERVICE PROPOSED
STEWART IS. AND MAINLAND. ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph- Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Sept. 18. A round table conference among representatives of the Southland Aero Club, the Southland League, the Stewart Island County Council and -the Stewart Island Progressive League took place this afternoon, when a proposal to establish an air service between Stewart Island and the mainland was discussed. As an outcome of the conference it was agreed that the Stewart Island representatives should ask the Controller of Aviation, Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes, to send an engineer to inspect the site suggested for a, landing ground with a view to having the necessary construction work carried out under the Government
