SCHOOL CONCERT(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual concert of the Norma-nhy school was held on Wednesday evening when there was a splendid attend ance every available seat being occupied.’ All the items presented were well received and reflected great ciedit upon the pupils and tlie teachers r - sponsible for their training Mr A Galloway, chairman of the School Committee, thanked the lar ge gatherino- for their excellent support and also thanked the staff and the pupils for their splendid effort on behalf of the SC Thi headmaster (Mr T. Taylor) also spoke, and said that he was particularly pleased at the great interest the parents were taking in the school. This, lie said, was shown by the attendance at the concert and by tne large number of tickets sold. The cooperation of the parents was greatly appreciated. The children also had given every assistance and had worked splendidly. To the staff he wished to extend every thanks for their loyal support and the excellent work accomplished. ■, Presentations of bouquets were made to Miss Syms by Audrey Hurliman. to Miss Payne by Lorna Kennedy ana to Miss Allen by Margaret Wiley. The programme opened with the National Anthem, to be followed with: Chorus by the upper and . middle classes; percussion band, infants; rhythm drill, infants; play, • Pigs,” those taking part being: Three little pigs, Arthur Duggan Edie Minhinnick, Ruth Henderson; black wolf, Jack Burton; chorus, Margaret Smith, Audrey Hurliman and Ell*ine Hey. Then followed a ribbon dance by the' lower classes; a dialogue, “The One-eyed Servant,” by Eileen Harrison and Constance Evans; song by Edie Minhinnick, “The Second Minuet”; folk dance and the Teddy Bears playlet by the infants, those taking part being: Violet Linn, Eldie Minhinnick, Elaine Hey, Doreen Bishop, Eileen Stacey, Kuku Kaake and Jack Burton. A song “Flowers Gavotte,” by Molly Galloway, was next on the programme, and “Pirates’ Burlesque” was rendered by the boys of the lower division. Tlie entertainment concluded with a play entitled “Tlie Happy Beggar,” by the senior and middle division pupils. The cast was: King, Errol Howell; queen, Nancy Frei; nurses, Bobina Burton and Nancy Shearer; pages, Frank Smith and Colin Bradley; wise man, Frank Gane; court physician, Fred Evans; king’s valet, Leu Henderson; footman, Victor Evans; first assistant, Athol Tippett; happy beggar, Ivan Kennedy.
Following the concert tho children were entertained to supper hy the parents, the adnlts enjoying an impromptu dance until midnight, when the evening concluded.
