BOXING AT HAWERA

WANGANUI AMATEURS’ VISIT. The Hawera Boxing Association will stage another amateur tourney on Monday night at the gymnasium, Princes Street, when boxers from Wanganui and Palmerston North will tiy conclusions with a Taranaki team. The star bout of the evening will be a contest between Jack Jarvis, of Eltham, and O. Gordon, of Patea, and this should prove to bc an outstanding match. Jarvis has a formidable record, with several knock-outs to his credit, his latest victim being C Smith, the South Auckland champion. Gordon is recognised as one of the most clever boxers in the amateur class in New Zealand to-day. Tn addition to the big bout there will be a number of other willing contests which should provide an attractive programme.
