CAMBRIDGE PARISH AFFAIRS. ABANDONMENT OF APPEAL. (By Telegraph—rress Association.) CAMBRIDGE, Aug. 14. In a statement this afternoon concerning his announcement of If is intention to appeal against the decision of the magistrate, Mr S. L. Paterson, and defend his claim to possession of the vicarage of Cambridge, the Rev. G. Bell said that after much consideration he had been led to abandon his intention of appealing and defending an action due to be heard next session in the Supreme Court at Hamilton. “'This means,” he added, ‘‘l. have been forced back upon what has been my contention throughout—that the matter is one which should be settled by the exercise of authority within the Church itself. I do not acknowledge the jurisdiction of the civil courts in the matfer. I am willing to endure any consequences arising out of failure to go further in civil court proceedings.”
