On behalf of the primary school children of Wellington a framed inscription to the memory of a brave little girl is to be placed in tbe Kakariki school, Wanganui, of which she was a pupil. This tribute is a sequel to a tragedy at the Kakariki railway bridge on Boxing Day, when Frances Mason, aged 10, and her cousin Molly t'amplin, aged three, were killed by a train. At the inquest the driver of the train said Frances Mason tried to protect her baby cousin with her own body when slu* saw a train coming.
