ALLEGED JEWELLERY THEFTS
CANVASSER FOR. TRIAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 7. Decision was given by Mr Stilwell in the Magistrate’s Court to-day in the ease in which George Alexander Low, a,creel 31 a canvasser and hawker, was charged with stealing five gold rings and a necklace valued at £3B 10s, the property, of G. L. Stedman. The heariuo- of the case was concluded on Friday, but the magistrate took time to consider whether he should dismiss the charge or commit Low for trial. Mr Stilwell said lie thought the evidence indicated that Low should meet the charge of theft. Accordingly he committed Low to the Supreme Court for trial. Low pleaded not guilty.
