Arch'dall, against a .proposal 1o send a Now Zealand secondary schools athletic team to Australia to compete in the Empire meeting in connection with the Melbourne centenary celebrations is not endorsed) by a majority of the hea/ls o;f AA T ellingiton secondary schools. The principal of Scots 'College was- in full agreement with Mr Archdall, but all the other principals interviewed to-day were of the opinion that there was no serious objection to a team going front New Zealand. The King’s College headmaster in a letter published to-day said' lie was “compelled to speak out against this attempt to set up ‘international schools’ competitions in athletics, and he endorsed the view of the headmaster of tire 'Sydney Grammar (School, Mr H. S. Dettmann, who said that 'school sport is becoming tooi much of the nature of a public stunt.”
