DEMAND FOR MORATORIUM

LONDON, April 26. The “Manchester Guardian’s” Berlin correspondent says that Germany is expected to demand a complete moratorium on all loans, including the Dawes and Young issues, and also the reduction of interest payments, and will point out that a tariff or quota concessions is necessary to enable her to inereaso her foreign trade. Otherwise the transfer of interest abroad cannot be maintained. The “Financial News” says that Britain will oppose any attempt to establish a complete moratorium,. SUSPENSION OF PAYMENTS. CONTINUANCE IMPOSSIBLE. BERLIN, April 27. On the .eve of the international conference on Germany’s long and middleterm debts, Dr. Schacht while broadcasting announced that the continuance. of the present partial payments in foreign currency was impossible and would immediately be suspended. OPPOSED TO INFLATION GERMAN CURRENCY POLICY. OTHER WARNINGS GIVEN. BERLIN, April 27. Dr. -Goebbels, speaking at a mass demonstration at Dusseldoirf, said the Government would never allow inflation In- Germany aagi-n, but would keep the currency stable. Referring to- the Catholic Church, he said: ‘ ‘ These lusty gentlemen need not think they can escape our eagle eye by assuming th,e deceitful mask of hypocritical piety. We knew them. The nation- also does not sympathise with figh-fcs occurring within the Protestant Church. I.t would be better if churchmen felt deep glatitude that national Socialism- has saved the Chu'rcih from the assaults of Godless Bolsheviks.” Dr. Goebbels also thundered a warning to profiteers and- price-raisers.
