■CONTEST AT OPUINAKE OKAIAWA TEAM WINS ' (From Our Own Correspondent.) The junior seven-a-side Rugby football tournament held at the Opunake Domain on Wednesday afternoon proved most successful and some bright football was witnessed. The finalists were:— Okaiawa: Thomas (2), Kara, Toro, T. Guy, Cleaver, fIEL Wards. Okato B': Price (3), McCabe, Goodwin, McCarthy, Mooitoy. There was a large crowd of spectators. The gate proceeds are to go to the sports candidate (Miss May Barney) in the Seaside -Society’s Queen Carnival. 1 ' •*'’*! The tournament was conducted toy the Opunake ‘Football Club with Mr Alex Elgar as organiser. Details of the games were:— First Pound. Oaonui defeated Waimate. Okato A. 11 v. Pihama 3. . Rahotu A 6 v. Camp 0. Opunake 0 v. Maoris 3. Rahotu, a bye. Kaponga O v. Okaiawa 6. Warea 9 v. Athletic 0. Okato B 10 v. Q.AJM.R. 6. Second Round. Okato A 3 v. Waimate 0. Rahotu A 6 v. Maoris 0. Okaiawa 13 v. Rahotu B 0. Warea 3 v. Q.AJM.R. O. Semi-Fina'ls. • Okato A 3 v. Rahotu A 0. Okaiawa 13 v. Warea 3. Final. Okaiawa 13 v. Okato A 8. Referees were: Messrs A. Elgar, R. Bowran and S. Roebuck.
