DEFENCE SERVICE ESTIMATES
CO-ORDINATION SUGGESTION. QUESTION IN COMMONS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 30. The Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, was asked in the House of Commons to-day whether any Government or other body was charged with co-ordinating the annual estimates of the three fighting services with a view to allotting the available funds in accordance with the defensive value of each service. Mr. MacDonald replied that the estimates were examined by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in consultation with his colleagues in charge of the defence departments. Final decision on the main lines of policy rested with Cabinet.
